Nadella also explained that Minecraft creators have earned over $350 millions from "more than a billion downloads of mods and add-ons Minecraft" This doesn't include activity that isn't part of Microsoft's Marketplace.

The pandemic is likely to lead to an influx of players for Minecraft however there are plenty of other factors that are generating the interest in the game, too. ipagd Last year , we saw Mojang's blocky take on Diablo, Minecraft Dungeons, and this year we're getting the Caves and Cliffs update in two parts. Mojang explained that it split the update into two parts to ensure quality, control technical complexity and keep the development team healthy. Expect to see some new mobs and blocks this summer, and even more complex components connected to world generation in the coming holiday season.

In Microsoft's financial statement, the company reports it earned $41.7 billion in revenue, which is up 19% from the same period in the previous year.

"Digital adoption curves have not decreased even though we're more than one year into the pandemic." They're increasing, and it's just the beginning," Nadella says.
