Cross-buy is possible for the portable Minecraft version. If you have already purchased the game on PSN, you can also buy it on Vita. In May, Mojang, the game's developer, Mojang stated that the price was $20, as per PS3, you can transfer saves between PS3 and Vita, and DLC purchases are available across both editions.

At the time, Mojang said it was working with Sony to "look into ways to enable an upgrade from the Blu-ray disc version of Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition to Minecraft: Playstation 3 and Vita." We contacted Sony to confirm that players of Minecraft on PS3 Bluray also have access to the Vita edition for free. We're waiting to hear release dates for the Vita retail version - next week's launch is limited to PSN.

It's still a busy time at MinecraftHQ, which is now Microsoft after the $2.5 billion acquisition Mojang and its lucrative games. After being released on the current generation consoles' online storefronts, Minecraft has its PS4 edition available for sale at the time of writing. The Xbox One disc version is scheduled to be available in US stores on November 18. [Image: 4J Studios]
