The Minecraft Vanilla Cape has players puzzled. Minecraft has plenty of cool capes. Did you know that? It's one of those item slots in the sandbox games that most people don't pay attention to, but they're there if you want to use them. Some of these items are able to be used to transfer your Mojang account or attend events. But you'll need to have done something prior to getting an item that is coming up.

The Minecraft Vanilla Cape is a well-kept secret at the moment. This is due to an article on the cape was published on the official Minecraft site earlier in the week, but it was removed a few hours later. It's a bizarre situation, and there's no reason as to why that's the situation.

Phoenix SC posted a video about the whole issue, and even created a mockup to show the cape in motion. The short version of the whole story is that Mojang published a blog that we've linked to, but which returns the 404 'not found' error, then shut it down. It stated that players who purchased both the Java and Bedrock versions of Minecraft prior to June 6, 2022 would get an extravagant Vanilla Cap.

The site was taken down a few hours later and can now be viewed only on the Wayback Machine. MCDEV'S BLOG This is quite a mystery. There's nothing particularly shocking about the article, nor does it seem to be something that was announced early. We're still not certain on the reason why it was taken down but it certainly was. According to the Wikipedia, it was also posted on the Minecraft Discord server. Why was the post removed from the site?
