What Are the Requirements For a Work Permit in Vietnam?

Vietnam Work Permit: Its Requirements

The requirements of a work permit also depend on the specific role, for which you are applying, but here we will explain the general requirements which you need to fulfill & they are:

• The age of the applicant should be at least 8 years.
• The applicant has qualifications & occupational skills as per the work requirements.
• A medical certificate to ensure that the applicant is in good health to fulfill the job requirements.
• The applicant should not have any criminal record as per the law of Vietnam & foreign laws.
• Different requirements according to job roles are as follows:
  • For Foreign Experts:
    • The foreign worker must possess a bachelor’s degree or at least 3 years of experience in the field relevant to the job position.
    • The foreign applicant must have a certificate of at least 05 years of experience in the field relevant to the job profile.
  • For Technical worker
    • Have received training in the technical or another related field for at least 1 year & possess a work experience of at least 3 years in that field.
    • Have an experience certificate of at least 5 years in a job relevant to the profile you are applying for in Vietnam.
    • The company where the applicant is going to work should have a suitable line of business on its business registration certificate.
  • For Directors, CEOs:
    • They should have a certificate of at least 3 years of work experience in the relevant profile.
  • Prepare the documents in legal format.

When should you apply for a Vietnam work permit?

A foreign worker should apply for a work permit in Vietnam at least 13 days before he will start his job/work in Vietnam. Kindly fill in the request form and other necessary documents & submit them to the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to apply for a work permit.
