What is the Culture Of Your Server?

The worlds of World of Warcraft are meant to look like different worlds, but they are not identical. You choose one and then follow the rules of that world. If you wish to live in a different world, you'll need to do a lot of work to reach there. But quick glance at the WoW Realm Forums shows that each server might better be described as its own private high school.

No matter what the names of their realms are, they have them. They have both celebrities who are famous for their exploits (Death & Taxes on Korgath and Sebudai with Doomhammer) or are known for their mistakes (Overrated on Black Dragonflight and Avatar on numerous servers, but initially Warsong). They have private dramas and screrenshots which will only be amusing to those who live in the same realm.

Servers are famous for a variety of things: Argent Dawn has good role-playing (and entertaining Goldshire cyber stories) Mal'Ganis is a leader in PvP in the world and Black Dragonflight and Korgath have one of the best guilds for raiding. Certain servers have rivalries. Arthas and Mal'Ganis have been arguing over each other since the transfer were made. The players of Blackrock frequently invade RP servers when Blackrock is down. There are also informal competitions within battlegroups. A few servers have official mottos. The two I can remember right now is "Tichondrius is not for you" and "Mal'Ganis KICKS!"

My server, Magtheridon, was released shortly after it was launched. Our only celebrity is Xzin We don't have any earth-shattering guilds, and we're not the most effective in PvP. Many people discuss the "Magtheridon Way" which is, as far as I can tell is a matter of Alliance outnumbering Horde as well as the use of the server's unofficial motto, which comprised of three words long, begins with "go" and ends with “yourself." It's a great location despite the delay, and I would not want to transfer anywhere else.

What is the nature of the server's culture? Is it populated or quiet or friendly? hostile to strangers or open to new players?
