Minecraft has been updated with a tribute to the streamer Technoblade who passed away from cancer was announced by his family this week. The Minecraft splash image on the game's launcher shows a pig with a golden crown. This is an ode to Technoblade's Minecraft character. It's a regal pig-man with a bejeweled crown.
The tweet posted on Friday by the Minecraft team said that they were "heartbroken" by Technoblade's death and that he "brought such joy to the game community."
Chilling And Killing
We've been trying to find the words but we all here at Minecraft are devastated by the loss of Technoblade. He meant so much to our community and brought us so many smiles. He will be missed dearly.
Technoblade was a popular Minecraft streamer who had more than 13 million users on YouTube. Technoblade was also part of the hit server Dream SMP. In a YouTube video that was released on Thursday, Technoblade's dad read an email from the streamer and discussed the effort put into making this final video while he battled cancer. It has been viewed more than 54 million times at the time of writing.
Tributes to Technoblade have poured in from other streamers and members of the Minecraft creator community. In the days since the event, numerous fan art pieces have been uploaded to Twitter in honor of the event, too.
The Minecraft team hasn't officially acknowledged the splash screen's update yet, but it's evidently pushed out this small modification in honor of. The original version of the launcher image shows the pig in the exact position, but it doesn't have Technoblade's trademark crown.
