While SpectroCoin have been offering crypto-linked cards for more than 7 years, for a while it was not possible to order a virtual card. Now, thanks to our partnership with Bankera virtual cards are back!
Take your everyday payments to the next level. Exchange cryptocurrencies and spend with your Visa debit card in millions of shops around the world.
No issuance, monthly or loading fees
Most importantly, there are practically no fees associated with ordering, maintaining or loading both physical and virtual SpectroCoin Cards. You can check all fees and limits here.
Very high limits
From now on, transactions up to 25,000 EUR (or equivalent in other currencies) can be done with SpectroCoin Cards. If a higher limit is required, please get in touch with our support team, and we might be able to increase them. Also, you can order up to 99 virtual cards. That is useful if you want to use separate cards to manage expenses at different merchants (for example, online ads’ account) or use it as a temporary card and avoid expenses in case you forget to cancel your subscription after a free trial. Also, up to 2,500 EUR per day (or equivalent in other currencies) can be withdrawn at ATMs with SpectroCoin plastic cards. Need more? Contact our support team.
How to order a virtual card?
Firstly, log in to your SpectroCoin account here. Once logged into SpectroCoin, go to the “Card” section, click on “Order New Card”, select card type, enter your delivery address (it has to be within the European Economic Area) and choose a delivery method (if you go for a physical card). Later you will be asked to create a password for online (3DS) payments, and you are ready to start using your brand new SpectroCoin debit card.
SpectroCoin debit cards are denominated in EURO and can be loaded using the cardholders’ SpectroCoin wallet. To top the card up, you can use the euros that you receive when you convert your virtual currency, as the card can only be loaded with this fiat currency.
If you store your digital assets in another currency wallet, please exchange it to EUR prior to loading the card as your card holds a balance in Euros only. After the virtual currency exchange has been completed, load your debit card with EUR from your Euro wallet. Usually, funds will be available within minutes after loading the card so that they are there when you need them.

What is the conversion rate used when I make a transaction in a currency different than the Euro?
When travelling with a SpectroCoin card or living in a country which has not adopted EUR, the interbank exchange rate applies when using a card. The rate at which currencies are swapped between one another is dynamic and provided by Visa Europe when the transaction is processed, which may differ from the actual transaction date. As any transaction in a foreign currency will be converted automatically at the selling exchange rate, make sure to check the Visa Europe website before making a purchase.
What’s next?
We are currently working to enable Apple Pay and Google Pay functionality for SpectroCoin Cards over the next couple of months and later enable automatic exchange of cryptocurrencies when using SpectroCoin Cards.
